As part of our ongoing fundraising efforts for Dalbeattie Riding of the Marches 2026, the committee hosted a community pop-up shop across the 24th, 25th, 27th and 28th April 2026 and what a success it was.Originally planned as a smaller fundraiser, the event quickly grew thanks to the incredible generosity of local people, with so many donations received that we decided to extend the shop for additional days.A very special mention must go to Joyce, who truly became our “shop queen” throughout the event. From organising donations and setting up displays to welcoming customers and helping run the shop day-to-day, Joyce worked tirelessly and did an absolutely fantastic job.

In the summer of 2026, Dalbeattie begins an exciting new chapter in its history with the launch of its first official Riding of the Marches, a new tradition rooted in the town’s historic burgh heritage.
